The group is highly active in connecting with parents in the community after restarting in 2015. Their committee was nominated for the Playgroup Victoria Committee of the Year award in that year.

The Playgroup has a committed and strong committee who are putting in their own time voluntarily, for all families in Dimboola and surrounds to have an active, interesting and structured play-based playgroup session.

The committee not only uses social media to let families know of what is coming up each week, but also posts links to creative and parenting sites to highlight resources and supports that are available.

They have been successful in securing numerous grants from many organisations to totally upgrade their playground, which previously was a patch of dead grass and an old tree stump!

It has been transformed into a child’s paradise, with a large sandpit, rustic outdoor kitchen, loop around bike path and native planting. A large shade will be going up soon, as part of the State Government Shade Grants Program.

The group has also established links with important connections such as the Health Nurse, Delkaia Aboriginal Best Start Facilitator and Hindmarsh Shire Council Youth and Early Years Officer
As a fundraiser for the playgroup, they are compiling a cookbook and asking the Dimboola community to submit recipes and photos, these can be dropped off at the Kindergarten. The funds raised will go towards the Playgroup and the Kindergarten.
