Local footballer Ben Miller will return to the Dimboola Roo’s for the 2019 season.

Dimboola Football and Netball Club president Col Campbell said, “we are excited to have Ben Miller back in the club for next season. He is an outstanding footballer and a grass roots DFNC member.”

“This is really big news for the club,” said Mr Campbell.

Mr Miller played with West Adelaide last year, but unfortunately suffered a back injury. He had returned to Dimboola while in recovery and once he was fit enough returned to work in the family business.

High Achiever

Mr Miller shared with Billy Hayes from Nhill, winning the Wimmera League trophy of ‘Best Opposition Player’ for 2017. Not only did Ben share the Best Opposition Player trophy, but also won the Latus Jewellers ‘Rookie of the Year’ and Best Under 21 player in the Seniors football the same year. He also won the Dimboola Football Club Best and Fairest for the 2016 and 2017 season.

Mr Miller also played Interleague for the Wimmera in 2016, when he captained in the Under 18’s, before making his senior debut the following year against the Murray Football League.

“We hope to have more exciting announcements next week for the ‘Green and Gold’ fans. We are shaping up to having a very strong side next season and I am sure the fans will not be disappointed,” Mr Campbell said.

The DFNC Annual General Meeting will be held next Tuesday night and members are encouraged to attend.

“I would hope everyone can get along to the AGM, where more announcements will be made about the club, that should get everyone quite excited for the 2019 season.”
