Premier event to be bigger than ever
WELCOME to the 50th annual Wimmera Machinery Field Days, leading the way in agricultural growth and prosperity since 1963.
The Wimmera region should be proud to be able to host the Wimmera Machinery Field Days, one of Australia’s longest running and premier rural events.
For the first week in March the Wimmera region becomes the major focus for broad acre farming, agriculture and rural lifestyle across the state and nation.
Make sure to head into the “50 years of Field Days” Pavilion to look at some fantastic flashbacks of field days from the past. It’s an impressive record of how far we have come since the early 1960’s.
Each afternoon the vintage Tractorcade revs up for a tour of the site with a wonderful showcase of typical farming tractors and machines from 50 years ago. Thanks to the historical groups who made this happen.
The 2012 Wimmera Machinery Field Days has attracted exhibitors from all over Australia and I am pleased to say that this year we boast what we believe is the greatest number of occupied sites at the field days since inception.
All the major companies and dealers from across the country are here with every brand of farming and agricultural product currently on the market.
The Alan Heard Pavilion is our key agribusiness centre, the Moore Exhibition Centre has nearly 80 different exhibitors and the central Field Days Marquee is the place to visit for agribusiness advice for the broadacre farmer.
For something different the Country Lifestyle Square and Marquee are as busy as ever, offering a vast array of exciting and unique companies offering a wonderful shopping experience.
The Field Days Square is full of activities for families and kids and home to the Australian Year of the Farmer travelling road show.
It the place to be for some shady seats to take a break, relax and recharge.
The Country Gourmet Food and Wine Pavilion is a fantastic place for lunch and a break throughout the day. This year we host celebrity chef Janelle Bloom, who will bring fantastic energy and enthusiasm to her cooking shows during the three days.
Horsham College are proud to be coordinating the popular Field Days Fashion Shows each day in the auditorium and it is wonderful to see the next generation getting involved in the Field Days.
Don’t miss the impressive Aussie Super Tank Fishing Show which is back again for another year. The team from Black Snake will have a big line-up of Australia’s deadliest reptiles and keep an eye out for the live crocodile.
We are excited to again host the huge V8 Supercar Simulator, which was super popular last year, so make sure you don’t miss the opportunity for the thrill ride of your life.
Thanks to all the field days sponsors and supporters, and the community groups and sporting clubs who are involved each year.
Thanks to everyone, including the field days committee led by Bryan Matuschka, and congratulations on 50 years of field days.
Enjoy the regions biggest event, “it’s got everything”.
