Three of our girls represents Dimboola in state cross country
Dimboola Memorial Secondary College, the Dimboola Primary School and the Holy Trinity Lutheran School sent a team of three girls to the 2017 State Cross Country championships at Bundoora Park last week.
Dimboola Primary School cross country runner Mayci Porter competed in the 12/13 girls primary school section. Danni Haebich represented DMSC and Olivier Revel represented Holy Trinity Lutheran School
On a cold wet day, Mayci and her mum were up early and headed down to Melbourne to line up with the best in Victoria. Dressed in the new Green And Gold sports top the Dimboola PS just purchased with a grant from Grain Flow, Mayci was set for a big day.
Apparently the track was rather wet and muddy making the conditions for personal best times out of reach for all the runners.
Mayci competed in the 12/13 year girls Primary School section and ran three kilometres in 10:41 minutes.
Mayci was placed 62nd from a field of 88 after just turning 12 in June, and competing with some older runners.
Danni competed in the 17/20 year olds girls section and ran the three kilometres in 10:46 minutes placing 41 out of 82 runners.
Olivier competed in the 15 year old girls section and finished the three kilometre course in 10:41 minutes. She placed a credible 35 from a field of 80 runners.
