Offenders arrested in Ballarat

Three men from Ballarat have been arrested following Monday morning’s break in at a Dimboola fuel station.

Three men from Ballarat have been arrested following Monday morning’s break in at a Dimboola fuel station.

It is alleged a car pulled up outside Dimboola’s Ellerman Street Metro Petroleum at around 12.35am Monday morning, and two men proceeded to smash the front windows and enter the store.

They allegedly stole cigarettes and tobacco products then fled the scene in the vehicle, which was later spotted by police on the Western Highway, heading towards Ballarat.

The vehicle was located on Monday afternoon parked outside a licenced premises on Lydiard Street in Ballarat.

Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested three men on the premises and seized cigarettes and lighters from the vehicle.

A 19-year-old Lucas man, along with two men from Mount Pleasant aged 19 and 20, are assisting police with their enquiries.
